Is the HP 17-cn5037nr good for gaming?

Only for light or older games. It has no dedicated graphics card, so it relies on integrated Intel graphics, which struggles with modern titles at full HD.

Is 32 GB of RAM overkill for this laptop?

For web browsing and office work, yes. It helps with many open tabs, virtual machines or large photo libraries, and it leaves headroom for years of use.

How does the Core Ultra 7 255U compare to the 155H?

The 255U is a lower-power chip with fewer cores. It runs cooler and quieter but is slower in sustained heavy tasks than the H-series chip.

Is the 17.3-inch screen too big to carry around?

It is fine between rooms but heavy in a backpack. If you commute daily, a 14- or 15-inch model is easier to live with.

What comes in the box?

The laptop, a power adapter and paperwork. It ships with Windows 11 Home installed; a mouse and sleeve are not included.

When is the best time to buy it?

With only one store listing it new at $1,469.00 as of November 7, 2026, watch for back-to-school and Black Friday sales, when HP 17-inch models usually see their deepest cuts.

Our take on the HP 17-cn5037nr 17.3-inch Laptop

The HP 17-cn5037nr is a 17.3-inch full-HD laptop built around an Intel Core Ultra 7 255U, 32 GB of DDR5 memory and a 2 TB SSD. It is aimed at people who want a big screen and lots of storage and memory rather than a light, fast machine. It has no dedicated graphics, so gaming and heavy creative work lean on integrated Intel graphics. Its best new price is $1,469.00 at Newegg as of November 7, 2026, and only one store lists it new, so there is little price competition to compare against.
