Is the HP OmniBook 5 16 good for everyday use?

Yes. 16 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD cover browsing, Office work, streaming and light photo editing comfortably. It is not built for gaming or heavy video editing.

Is the 1920 x 1200 touchscreen good?

The 16:10 ratio gives extra vertical space, which helps with documents and web pages. At 60Hz it is a standard panel, not a smooth high-refresh display.

How long does the battery last?

HP rates it at up to 10 hours. Expect closer to 6 to 8 hours of real mixed use, less with video or a bright screen.

Can I upgrade the RAM or storage?

The 1 TB SSD is the main storage, and many HP laptops in this class allow an SSD swap. RAM is often soldered on thin models, so buy the 16 GB version you need up front.

What comes in the box?

Typically the laptop and a power adapter. A stylus and external mouse are usually not included, so check the listing if you need them.

Back-to-school season, Black Friday and end-of-quarter sales are the usual low points for HP laptops. Prices also drop when a newer OmniBook model replaces it.

Our take on the HP Laptop OmniBook 5 16 x 1200 Touc

The HP OmniBook 5 16 is a 16-inch Windows laptop with a 1920 x 1200 touchscreen, 16 GB of RAM and a 1 TB solid-state drive. The taller 16:10 screen gives more vertical room for documents and web pages, and the 60Hz panel is fine for everyday work rather than gaming. HP rates battery life at up to 10 hours, which is realistic for mixed office use but not for a full day of video. No current price was supplied for this configuration, so compare it against other 16-inch, 16 GB/1 TB laptops before buying.
