Is the HP OmniBook 5 16 worth it at $766.79?

At $766.79 at Best Buy as of November 5, 2026, it is fair value for a 16-inch touch laptop with 16GB RAM and a 1TB SSD. If you need a bright, color-accurate screen, spend more on a different model.

Is the screen good enough for photo editing?

Only for casual use. At 250 nits and 45% sRGB, colors look washed out and the panel struggles in bright light, so it is a poor fit for serious photo or video work.

Can it handle gaming?

Lightly. Intel integrated graphics run older and indie titles at low settings, but modern 3D games will be unplayable or need heavy compromises.

How does it compare with the previous OmniBook generation?

The Core Ultra 5 225U is a newer 12-core chip, so expect better efficiency and everyday speed than older U-series models. The screen and chassis are largely the same class of hardware.

What ports and connections does it have?

It includes an HDMI port for an external monitor, alongside the usual USB ports and wireless connectivity. Check the full port list before buying if you need Thunderbolt or an SD card reader.

When is it likely to be cheapest?

Only one new listing is tracked, at $766.79 as of November 5, 2026, so there is no recent range to judge from. Laptop prices typically drop around Black Friday and back-to-school sales.
