Is the HP OmniBook 5 worth buying?

For everyday Windows work, yes. 16 GB of RAM and a backlit, no-glare screen cover the basics well. Skip it if you need a dedicated GPU for gaming or video editing.

Is $817 at Amazon a good price?

Only one store lists it new at $817.00 as of November 5, 2026, so there is no lower competing price to compare. Check whether a similar 16 GB HP model sells for less before you commit.

It uses Intel integrated graphics, so it handles light and older games at low settings. Modern 3D titles will be slow or unplayable.

Does it have a backlit keyboard and a matte screen?

Yes. The listing confirms a backlit keyboard and a no-glare screen, which help with typing in low light and working near windows.

What comes in the box?

Expect the laptop and its charger. The listing does not detail extras such as a stylus or sleeve, so confirm with the seller if you need those.

There is no price history yet because only one store lists it new. Watch for back-to-school and holiday sales, when HP laptops usually get cut.

Our take on the HP OmniBook 5 Laptop

The HP OmniBook 5 is a mainstream Windows laptop with an Intel CPU, Intel integrated graphics, 16 GB of RAM, a backlit keyboard and a no-glare screen. It is a general-purpose machine for school, office work and streaming rather than gaming or heavy creative work. The best new price is $817.00 at Amazon as of November 5, 2026, and only one store lists it new, so there is no meaningful price history to compare against.
