Is the HulkFit trap bar worth it over a straight bar?

If you deadlift for general strength and want less lower-back strain, yes. It is not a replacement for a straight bar if you compete in powerlifting, where the trap bar is not used.

Does it fit standard Olympic plates?

Yes. It uses 2-inch Olympic sleeves and comes with spring collars. It will not take 1-inch standard plates.

What is the difference between the high and low handles?

The foldable handles let you set the pull height higher, which shortens the range of motion and suits beginners or lifters with mobility limits. Flipping them down gives a lower, harder pull closer to a conventional deadlift.

How much weight can it hold?

HulkFit rates it to 800 lb including the bar. That covers most home lifters, but check your plates and floor before loading near the limit.

How big is it and can I store it upright?

It measures 56 inches long and 24.5 inches wide. It stands on end for storage, which takes little floor space.

When is the best time to buy?

Trap bars tend to drop during Black Friday and January fitness sales. At $154.39 at Walmart as of November 4, 2026, it is already near the low end for a folding-handle trap bar.
