What size dog fits the XS bed?

The bed measures 22 by 16 inches outside and 5 inches high, so it suits small breeds and toy dogs. Measure your dog curled up and add a few inches before buying.

Can the cover be washed?

Yes. The cover unzips and is machine washable. The tufted cushion comes out first, so wash the cover separately and air-dry the fill.

Is it good for anxious dogs?

The raised oval ring gives dogs something to press against, which many anxious dogs like. It is not a substitute for training or vet advice for serious separation anxiety.

Does it work as a crate mat?

Yes, the removable cushion lets you use the flat pad alone in a crate. Check the 22 by 16 inch footprint against your crate floor first.

What is inside the bed?

High-memory polyester fiber fill under an upholstery-grade 100% polyester cover. The fill is not waterproof.

When is the price lowest?

Pet beds usually dip during holiday sales and post-season clearances. Check the price history chart before buying to see whether the current price is above or below its usual range.

Our take on the hush bone Extra Large Donut Calming Dog Bed

The hush bone Donut Calming Dog Bed is a round bolster bed with a raised oval ring that gives small dogs something to curl against. The tufted cushion is removable, and the cover unzips for washing. It is upholstery-grade polyester with high-memory fiber fill that holds its shape. Listed as size XS at 22 by 16 inches outside, it suits small breeds rather than medium or large dogs.
