Questions and answers

Is the OMEN MAX 16 worth $3,609.99?

Only if the GPU and CPU in this exact build justify it. At that price, 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD are modest, so compare against similarly priced 16-inch gaming laptops with 32GB and 1TB before committing.

Can I upgrade the RAM and storage?

Yes. HP supports up to 64GB of RAM, so you can add memory later. The 512GB SSD can also be swapped for a larger drive, which is the cheapest fix for storage limits.

Is the 240Hz screen worth it?

For fast shooters and esports, yes. The 2560 x 1600 panel at 240Hz shows smoother motion than 165Hz, but you need a strong GPU to push high frame rates at that resolution.

What is in the box?

Expect the laptop and its power adapter. Check the listing for a stylus or bundled accessories, since gaming laptops rarely include extras.

When is it cheapest?

Gaming laptops like this usually drop during Black Friday, back-to-school and end-of-quarter sales. Track the price history and buy when it falls below the recent range rather than at list.
