Is the MALM dressing table worth it?

It is a good value if you want a slim wall-mounted vanity with a glass top and organized drawer. Skip it if you need freestanding furniture or lots of storage.

Does it have to be mounted to the wall?

Yes. IKEA specifies wall fixing, and the light honeycomb core is not stable standing alone. Plan for studs or proper anchors.

What are the dimensions?

It is 120 cm wide, 41 cm deep and about 78 cm high, with a drawer roughly 34 cm wide inside. Check that height against your stool and mirror.

What is included in the box?

The table, drawer, glass top and organizer come in the flat pack. Mirror, stool, wall fixings for your wall type and assembly tools are not included.

Does it match other MALM furniture?

Yes. The white finish and clean lines coordinate with the MALM bed and dressers, so it works as part of a matching bedroom set.

IKEA discounts bedroom furniture during its periodic bedroom and family sales. Check the price history here before buying at full price.

Our take on the IKEA MALM Dressing Table

The IKEA MALM is a wall-mounted dressing table with a white tempered-glass top, one wide drawer and an open shelf underneath. The drawer has a felt-lined jewelry and makeup tray, and the glass top wipes clean of powder and spills. It must be screwed to the wall, so it suits a bedroom or entryway with studs or solid anchors. It is a mid-priced MALM piece; watch for it in IKEA's periodic bedroom sales rather than paying full price.
