Is the Intex SimpleSpa worth it?

For a first hot tub or a rental, yes: it costs far less than a hard-sided spa and needs no installation. Expect slow heating and bubble-style massage rather than strong jets.

How long does it take to heat up?

Plan on roughly a day or more to reach 104°F from cold tap water, longer in cool weather. The insulated cover helps it hold heat between soaks.

What outlet does it need?

A standard 120V grounded outlet on a 13-amp circuit. Don't share the circuit with other heavy appliances.

What comes in the box?

The spa, insulated cover, ground cloth, carry bag, two S1 filter cartridges and a floating chemical dispenser.

Intex rates it for 4, but it is most comfortable for 2 to 3 adults. The water capacity is 210 gallons.
