Our take on the Ivy Bronx Modern Wooden Bookcase Headboard with LED Lights and Charging Station

This is a king-size wooden headboard from Ivy Bronx with built-in LED lighting and a charging station, plus open storage shelves. It attaches behind the bed in place of a plain headboard, so it adds shelf space and outlets where a nightstand may not fit. Ivy Bronx sells through several furniture retailers, so the price varies by store and size; check the current listing for the king price before buying.

Best forRenters or owners who want shelves and outlets without a nightstandBedrooms where the bed sits against a wall with no room for side tablesBuyers who want a headboard with reading light built in

  • Wood frame matches most bedroom furniture
Cons
  • Assembly is required and the charging wiring adds steps
  • Only 3.7 out of 5 from 46 ratings, so satisfaction is mixed
  • Shelves are open, so dust and clutter show
  • King size is bulky to move and to return if it arrives damaged

Questions and answers

Is this headboard worth it?
It makes sense if you want shelves, a reading light and charging in one piece and have no room for a nightstand. If you mainly want a sturdy plain headboard, a simpler wood model will likely cost less and last longer.
Does it fit a king bed?
This listing is the king size, so measure your mattress width and the gap between your bed frame rails before ordering. Check the mounting method against your frame, since headboards attach differently to metal and wooden frames.
What is included in the box?
You get the headboard panels, shelves, LED light and charging hardware with the fittings needed to assemble it. A mattress, bed frame and bedding are not included.
How does the charging station work?
The charging ports are built into the headboard and need to be plugged into a wall outlet, so plan for a cord running to the nearest socket. Check the port types on the listing to confirm they match your phone and other devices.
When is the price lowest?
Furniture like this usually drops during holiday sales and end-of-season clearances. Compare the price across the stores that carry Ivy Bronx, since the same headboard is often listed at different prices.
