Our take on the IZOD Mateo Travel 3 Piece Luggage Set

The IZOD Mateo is a three-piece hard-shell luggage set in ABS, with 360-degree spinner wheels, a built-in combination lock and 20% expandable capacity. Soft jelly grab handles and an aluminum telescopic handle make it easy to maneuver, and the interior has a divider and cross straps instead of exterior pockets. At $103.49 at JCPenney as of November 5, 2026, it sits at the low end of its recent range, with only three stores pricing it new.

Questions and answers

Is this set carry-on size?
The set includes a carry-on piece plus checked sizes, so you can fly with the smallest case and check the larger ones. Check your airline's carry-on limits before packing the smallest bag.
Is the lock TSA-approved?
No. It is a standard combination lock, so airport security may need to open the bag. Use a TSA-approved strap lock if you check it often.
How much does the set weigh?
IZOD does not list weights per piece, but ABS shells are generally lighter than polycarbonate. Expect the carry-on to be manageable for most travelers.
Is $103.49 a good price?
Yes. At $103.49 at JCPenney as of November 5, 2026, the set is near the low end of its recent range, and only three stores price it new.
Does it have exterior pockets?
No. All storage is inside, with a divider and cross straps in each case.
What is the warranty?
IZOD's luggage warranty terms vary by retailer, so confirm coverage with the store before buying.
