Is the Superbreak Plus FX worth it over the plain Superbreak?

Yes if you carry a laptop: the Plus FX adds a padded 15-inch sleeve and an organizer pocket that the base Superbreak lacks. If you only carry books, the plain Superbreak is cheaper and lighter.

Does it fit a 15-inch laptop?

Yes. The padded sleeve is sized for most 15-inch laptops, and a 13-inch model slides in with room to spare. Measure your laptop's width if it is a bulky gaming model.

Does it have water bottle pockets?

No. This model has no side mesh pockets, so a bottle has to go inside the main compartment or in the front utility pocket if it is slim.

What is the capacity and weight?

It holds 26 liters and weighs about 12 ounces empty, which is light for a pack with a laptop sleeve. It is sized as a one-size school backpack.

Prices drop during back-to-school sales in July and August and again around Black Friday. JanSport also discounts older FX prints when new colors arrive.

What is the warranty?

JanSport covers manufacturing defects for life. Normal wear, such as a torn strap from overloading, is not covered.

Our take on the JanSport Superbreak Plus FX Backpack

The JanSport Superbreak Plus FX is a 26-liter nylon school backpack built on the classic Superbreak shape, with a padded 15-inch laptop sleeve and a front utility pocket with organizer. It is a light, simple pack that suits students and commuters who carry books, a laptop and a few small items. The FX fabric finish is the main change from the plain Superbreak Plus. It is widely sold at a mid-range price for a JanSport, and it goes on sale around back-to-school season.
