Is the Joie Saffron SI worth it?

At $187.50 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, it is a low-cost way to cover birth through booster age without buying three seats. If you need a narrow seat or a load leg, spend more elsewhere.

How long does it last?

Rear-facing from 4 lb, then forward-facing with the harness, then high-back booster to 100 lb and backless to 60 inches tall. That covers most kids to about age 10 to 12.

Does it fit three across in a back seat?

Usually not. It is 19 inches wide, so three across only works in wide vehicles or with narrow seats beside it.

The seat, a plush infant insert, a removable insert and a cup holder. No base is needed; it installs with the vehicle belt or lower anchors.

The best new price seen is $187.50 at eBay as of November 4, 2026. Convertible seats often drop during Black Friday and spring baby events.

Can it be used rear-facing past infancy?

Yes, it is rated rear-facing from 4 lb, but check the seat's rear-facing height and weight limits in the manual, since Joie lists the 100 lb figure for booster mode.
