Is the Preston 86" sofa worth it?

It is a solid pick if you want a compact velvet sofa with low-emission certification. Compare it with other two-seat velvet sofas before buying, since the price is high for the size.

How does it compare with a three-seat sofa?

At 68 inches wide it seats two, not three. A standard three-seat sofa runs about 84 inches, so the Preston suits smaller rooms.

What are the exact dimensions?

It is 68 inches wide, 35 inches deep and 33 inches high, with a 62-inch seat, 22-inch seat depth and 18-inch seat height.

What is the Royale fabric?

Royale is Joybird's plush velvet upholstery. It feels soft but needs brushing and careful cleaning to keep its nap.

Is it GREENGUARD Gold certified?

Yes. GREENGUARD Gold means it meets low chemical emission standards, which helps in bedrooms and small rooms.

Joybird runs sales around major holidays and occasionally offers sitewide discounts. Watch for those windows rather than buying at list price.

Our take on the Joybird Preston 86" Sofa

The Joybird Preston is a modern two-seat sofa with a plush velvet Royale upholstery, tapered wood legs and handcrafted construction. It measures 68 inches wide, 35 inches deep and 33 inches high, with a 62-inch seat and an 18-inch seat height. GREENGUARD Gold certification means low chemical emissions, which matters in small rooms and bedrooms. It is a compact sofa for smaller living rooms rather than a full three-seat couch.
