Questions and answers

Is the Joystone 4K HD FPV Camera Drone worth it?
At $39.96 at Walmart as of November 3, 2026, it is a reasonable first drone or gift. Do not expect real 4K footage or long-range flying at this price.
How far can it fly from the controller?
The listed operating distance is 0.1 mi, roughly 160 meters. Keep it within line of sight and expect signal loss well before that in built-up areas.
What batteries does it use?
It runs on AAA batteries rather than a rechargeable flight pack. Budget for rechargeables or a steady supply of disposables, since flight time per set is short.
Does it really record in 4K?
The name says 4K, but at this price the camera is best treated as basic. Expect usable casual clips, not sharp 4K video.
Is it good for kids?
Yes, it suits kids and beginners as a first drone. Supervise flights, keep it indoors or in a yard, and stay well under the 0.1 mi range.
When is the best time to buy it?
The price has been flat at $39.96 at Walmart since November 2, 2026. Watch for holiday discounts, since this class of drone often drops around Black Friday.
