Is the Kelty Mistral 40 good for cold weather?

No. A 40°F rating is a limit, not a comfort rating, so plan on mild summer nights. Cold sleepers should treat it as a 50°F bag or layer up.

What is the difference between Regular and Long?

Regular fits most people up to about 6 feet; Long adds length and weighs about 1.4 kg. Choose Long if you are taller or want extra room.

Is it good for backpacking?

Yes for warm-weather trips where weight matters. It is light for the price, but the thin shell and basic fill suit occasional use rather than hard backcountry duty.

When is the best time to buy it?
