Our take on the Kluft Down Mattress Pad

The Kluft Down Mattress Pad is a handcrafted down topper with a 400-thread-count pre-shrunk cotton sateen cover and 550 fill power down. It adds a soft, lofted layer over an existing mattress rather than changing its support. It is a premium-priced pad: the best new price is $450 at Poshmark as of November 6, 2026, and only one store lists it new, so there is little price competition to shop around.

Questions and answers

Is a down mattress pad worth $450?
Only if you want natural down softness and handcrafted construction. Foam and fiber pads cost far less but feel different and sleep warmer.
Will it make a firm mattress softer?
Yes. The 550 fill power down adds a soft, lofted layer on top. It cushions pressure points but does not change the mattress's underlying support.
Does it fit any mattress size?
The listing shows a single one-size option, so confirm the dimensions match your mattress before buying.
Is it good for allergy sufferers?
Down can trigger reactions in people sensitive to feathers. A down alternative pad is the safer choice for them.
How do I care for it?
Follow Kluft's care label; down pads usually need a duvet cover or protector and occasional airing or professional cleaning. Shake it out to redistribute the fill.
When is it cheapest?
Only one store lists it new, at $450 at Poshmark as of November 6, 2026. With no competing listings, discounts are unlikely outside seasonal sales.
