Is this bike worth it?

For casual riding on paths and light trails at a low price, yes. If you plan to ride rough trails often, spend more on an aluminum frame with better components.

What height rider does a 24-inch bike fit?

Roughly 4'11" to 5'5". Taller riders should look at a 26-inch or 27.5-inch bike for a proper fit.

How many speeds does it have?

21, from a 3x7 drivetrain with three front chainrings and seven rear gears. That gives a wide range for hills and flat paths.

Does it come assembled?

No. It ships partly assembled and needs the front wheel, handlebars, seat and pedals fitted, plus brake and derailleur adjustment. A shop tune-up is worth the cost if you are not handy.

What is the weight limit?

265 lb maximum load, which covers most teen and adult riders.

Budget bikes like this tend to drop during spring sales events and end-of-season clearance. Check the price history before buying.

Our take on the Ktaxon 24 Inch Mountain Bike 21 Speed

The Ktaxon 24 Inch Mountain Bike is a budget hardtail with a steel frame, 21 speeds, front suspension and mechanical disc brakes. It is sized for riders roughly 4'11" to 5'5" and rated to 265 lb, so it fits teens and shorter adults rather than full-size riders. The 3x7 drivetrain and aluminum rims are basic but serviceable for paved paths and light trails. It sells in the low hundreds of dollars, which is near the bottom of the 24-inch mountain bike range; watch for it to dip during seasonal sales.
