Best forSmall living rooms and apartmentsBuyers who want a blue fabric sofa under 6 feetLow-traffic seating in a home office or denShoppers who prefer rolled arms and a classic look
Pros
  • 72-inch length fits tight rooms and narrow walls
  • Rolled arms and solid blue fabric suit many decors
  • Wood frame gives a sturdier base than particleboard-only builds
  • 21-inch seat depth and 18-inch seat height suit most adults
  • Polyester upholstery resists stains and is easy to wipe clean
Cons
  • Seats three only snugly at 72 inches wide
  • Polyester can feel warm and shows pilling over time
  • No information on cushion fill, so firmness is a gamble
  • Blue only; no other colorways listed
  • Not a deep sofa for lounging or tall users

Questions and answers

Is the Akai sofa worth it?
At a mid-range price it is a reasonable pick for a small room where a full-size sofa will not fit. Check the price against its recent range first, since fabric sofas often drop during seasonal sales.
How many people does a 72-inch sofa seat?
Three adults fit, but tightly. Two people plus a child, or two adults who like space, is more comfortable at this width.
What is the seat height and depth?
The seat is 18 inches high and 21 inches deep. That height suits most adults; the 21-inch depth is shallower than many lounging sofas.
Is the polyester fabric easy to clean?
Yes. Polyester resists spills and wipes clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid harsh solvents, which can dull the color.
Does it come assembled?
Most sofas in this class ship flat-packed with the arms and legs to attach. Expect to spend some time on assembly and to need a second person to move it.
When is the best time to buy it?
Watch for holiday and clearance sales, when upholstered furniture is commonly discounted. Use the price history to see whether a sale price is genuinely below the usual range.
