Is LEGO 40821 Love Bears worth it?

At $9.38 it is easy to justify: you get 287 pieces and a finished display piece for about the price of a card and candy. It is a light build, so buy it for the gift and the look, not for building challenge.

How long does the Love Bears set take to build?

Most builders finish it in 30 to 45 minutes. The 287 pieces are mostly small plates and slopes, so it is a single-sitting build for teens and adults.

What age is LEGO Love Bears 40821 for?

LEGO recommends 9 and up. Younger kids can help with sorting, but the small pieces are a choking hazard for children under 3.

What is in the LEGO 40821 box?

The box contains the 287 bricks and the instruction booklet to build the two bears and their heart base. It is a kit, so no batteries or extra parts are needed.

When is the best time to buy LEGO Love Bears?

Prices on seasonal sets tend to dip after Valentine's Day as stores clear stock. If you need it for February 14, buy early; if you can wait, late February is usually cheaper.

How does Love Bears compare to other LEGO Valentine's sets?

It is smaller and cheaper than most botanical or Icons Valentine's sets, and it builds a character rather than flowers. Choose it for a cute figure; choose a flower set for a longer build and a bigger display.

Our take on the LEGO 40821 Love Bears

LEGO Love Bears (40821) is a 287-piece Valentine's Day set that builds two small brick bears, one in pink and one in brown, posed together on a heart-themed base. It is aimed at ages 9 and up but is simple enough for adults to finish in under an hour, making it a low-commitment gift or desk display. The latest best price is $9.38, well below the set's typical range, so it is a cheap way to get a nearly 300-piece build.
