Is the Liberty Garden 840 worth it over a cheaper cart?

If you need 250 feet of 5/8-inch hose capacity and a steel frame, the 840 is a reasonable buy at $120.89 at Amazon as of November 4, 2026. Cheaper carts usually use thinner metal and smaller reels.

How much hose does it actually hold?

Liberty rates it for 250 feet of 5/8-inch hose. Thicker hose or a bulky connector at the end will cut that figure.

Does it come with a hose?

No. It ships with a 5-foot leader hose that connects the reel to your spigot; the main hose is sold separately.

Can it handle low water pressure?

Yes. It is rated from 20 psi to 150 psi, so it works on typical household outdoor spigots.

How hard is assembly?

Expect to bolt the frame and wheels together with basic hand tools. Plan for roughly an hour, and assemble it where you will store it, since it is heavy once built.

When is the price lowest?

Garden equipment tends to discount in late summer and fall. With only one store listing it new as of November 4, 2026, watch that listing rather than expecting broad price competition.

Our take on the Liberty Garden Model 840

The Liberty Garden Model 840 is a four-wheel hose reel cart built to hold up to 250 feet of 5/8-inch hose. Its 13-gauge steel frame, powder-coat finish and never-flat PU tires are meant for yards where the hose gets dragged across grass and pavement. A 90-degree solid brass swivel helps the hose feed evenly, and the cart is rated for 20 to 150 psi. The best new price is $120.89 at Amazon as of November 4, 2026, and only one store lists it new, so comparison shopping is limited.
