Our take on the Lifeline Hex Rubber Dumbbell

The Lifeline Hex Rubber Dumbbell is a single 50 lb hex-head dumbbell with rubber over-molded heads and a triple-knurled chrome handle. The hex shape keeps it from rolling, and the 34 mm handle suits heavier pulling and pressing work. At $43.04 at Escalade Sports as of November 3, 2026, it is a low price for a 50 lb rubber hex dumbbell, well under what most single 50 lb dumbbells cost new.

Questions and answers

Is the Lifeline Hex Rubber Dumbbell sold as a pair?
No. It is one 50 lb dumbbell. You need to buy two if you want a matching pair.
Is $43.04 a good price for a 50 lb dumbbell?
Yes. That is low for a single 50 lb rubber hex dumbbell, which usually sells for more. Three stores list it new, so compare shipping before you buy.
Will the hex heads damage my floor?
The rubber over-molding cushions the heads, so drops are quieter and gentler on concrete and rubber gym floors. On hardwood, set it down rather than drop it.
How does the 34 mm handle compare with other dumbbells?
It is on the thicker side. Lifters with smaller hands may find it harder to wrap around than a standard 28-32 mm handle.
What is in the box?
One 50 lb dumbbell. No stand, rack or second dumbbell is included.
When is it cheapest?
Heavy dumbbells tend to dip during sales events and when stores clear stock. Watch the price history and buy when it falls below the recent range.
