Our take on the Loon Peak Handcrafted Round Mango Wood Coffee Table with Domed Base & Lipped Edge

The Loon Peak Handcrafted Round Mango Wood Coffee Table is a 30-inch round solid mango wood table with a sculptural domed base and a raised lipped edge. At about 12 inches tall, it sits low, which suits sectionals and low sofas. The lipped rim keeps remotes, mugs and books from sliding off, and the domed pedestal gives it a heavier, furniture-store look than a plain four-leg table. It is a solid wood piece, so expect real weight and natural grain variation between units.

Questions and answers

Is it worth it over a cheaper round coffee table?
If you want solid mango wood and a sculptural base, yes. Cheaper round tables are usually veneer over MDF and show wear faster. The trade-off is weight and a higher price.
Will it work with my sofa height?
Check your seat height first. At roughly 12 inches, it pairs best with low sofas and sectionals; with an 18-inch seat it will sit noticeably low.
How big is the top in practice?
About 30 inches across, enough for a tray, a couple of books and two mugs. It is not a table for four people eating.
Does the lipped edge cause problems?
It keeps items from sliding off, but the raised rim means a large flat tray may not sit flush. Measure anything you plan to place on top.
How do I care for mango wood?
Wipe with a damp cloth and use coasters for hot and wet items. Re-oil every few months if the finish starts looking dry.
When is it cheapest?
Solid wood furniture usually drops during seasonal sales and clearance events. Set a price alert and compare across stores rather than buying at first sight.
