Our take on the Lucky Doug Airplane Toys for Toddlers with Cars Track

The Lucky Doug Airplane Toys for Toddlers is a plastic playset built around a spiral racing track that drops cars into a plane-shaped parking scene. It includes four cars, light and sound effects, and a spray feature, and is aimed at kids aged 1 to 6. Assembly is required, and the finished set measures about 11 by 11.4 by 7.1 inches. It is a small, budget-tier toy rather than a large track system.

Questions and answers

Is this worth it for a 2-year-old?
Yes, if you want a small, inexpensive track toy. The 1-to-6 age range fits a 2-year-old, but the set is light and needs assembly, so expect some help setting it up.
Does it need batteries?
Yes. The light, sound and spray features run on batteries, which are not listed as included. Plan to buy them before first play.
How big is the assembled set?
About 11 inches long, 11.4 inches wide and 7.1 inches tall. It fits on a low table or the floor without taking much room.
What comes in the box?
The airplane playset, the helical car track and four cars. Assembly is required.
How does it compare with a larger car track?
It is much smaller and simpler than a multi-lane track set. That suits toddlers, but older kids will outgrow it quickly.
When is it cheapest?
Toy prices like this one dip around major sales events and the holiday season. Check the price history before buying.
