Our take on the Magegee Portable Mechanical Gaming Keyboard Mk-Box LED Backlit Compact 68 Keys Mini Wired Office Keyboard

The Magegee Mk-Box is a compact 68-key wired mechanical keyboard with LED backlighting and linear switches. Its 65% layout keeps arrow keys and a few navigation keys while dropping the number pad and function row to save desk space. The 3 ft cable is short, so plan on a USB extension or a nearby port. Its price has held at $29.99 since October 28, 2026, with no movement in either direction.

Questions and answers

Is the Magegee Mk-Box worth it?
At $29.99 it is a low-risk way to try a mechanical keyboard. Expect basic build quality and a short cable rather than premium materials.
Is 68 keys enough for gaming and typing?
Yes for most users. You get letters, numbers, arrows and a few navigation keys, but no number pad and no separate function row.
Does it work with a Mac?
Yes. It is listed as compatible with Windows, Mac and Linux over wired USB, though Mac-specific key labels may not match.
How long is the cable?
The cable is 3 ft, which is short for a tower under a desk. A USB extension cable is a sensible add-on.
Are the switches loud?
It uses linear switches, which are quieter than clicky switches but still audible. They suit gaming and shared spaces better than blue-style clicky keys.
When is it cheapest?
The lowest recorded daily price is $29.99, set on October 28, 2026, and it has not dropped below that since.
