Our take on the Makita 18V LXT/12V max CXT Lithium-Ion Rapid Optimum Charger

The Makita Rapid Optimum Charger is a two-platform charger that takes both 18V LXT and 12V max CXT lithium-ion batteries. It uses forced-air cooling and a built-in fan to speed charging and protect cells, and it runs on 12-230V input, so it works on US and overseas outlets with a plug adapter. It is a bare charger: no battery is included. It suits owners already in Makita's LXT or CXT system who want a second charger or a faster one than the basic kit unit.
