Is the Makita LS0815FLN worth it?

For trim and shop work it is a solid buy: sliding capacity, a laser and a brake at a mid-range price. If you need portability, a lighter 10-inch saw may suit you better.

Does it come with a blade?

Yes. A 216 mm 48-tooth blade with a 30 mm arbor is included, so it is ready to cut out of the box.

Can it cut 4x4 lumber?

Not in one pass at 90 degrees. The 65 mm capacity at 45 degrees and 54.5 cm depth suit dimensional lumber up to roughly 2x6, so a 4x4 needs a flip or a larger saw.

Is the laser accurate?

It is a guide, not a precision stop. Check it against a test cut and adjust if it drifts; many owners find it close enough for trim.

The best new price is $672.93 at Grooves-Inc.com as of November 4, 2026. Watch for seasonal sales and bundle deals, since only two stores list it new.

Our take on the Makita LS0815FLN Miter Saw

The Makita LS0815FLN is a corded 216 mm (8-1/2 in) sliding compound miter saw for wood and dimensional lumber, with a laser guide, soft start and an electric blade brake. Its 48-tooth blade spins at 5,000 rpm and cuts up to 65 x 215 mm at 45 degrees. It weighs 14.2 kg, so it is a benchtop saw rather than a site saw you carry one-handed. The best new price is $672.93 at Grooves-Inc.com as of November 4, 2026, with two stores listing it new.
