Is the Makita UB001G worth it over a handheld blower?

If you have a lot of leaves and want the weight off your arms, the backpack harness is the main reason to pay more. For small yards, a handheld 18V blower is cheaper and easier to store.

Does it come with a battery and charger?

No. It is tool only, so you need a 40V Max XGT battery and charger, or a kit from another listing. Budget for those before comparing prices.

How long does the battery last?

Makita rates 13 to 50 minutes on a 2.5 Ah XGT pack depending on speed, and up to about 35 minutes on a 4.0 Ah pack. A spare battery is worth having for large jobs.

How does it compare with the 18V LXT blowers?

The 40V XGT platform delivers more air speed and volume than Makita's 18V LXT blowers. The trade-off is that XGT batteries do not fit LXT tools.

Is it loud enough to bother neighbors?

Makita rates it at 61 dB(A) under ANSI B175.2, which is quiet for a cordless blower. It is a reasonable choice for suburban lots.

When is the best time to buy it?

Cordless outdoor tools tend to drop in fall leaf-cleanup season and around major sales. Watch the price history and buy when it dips below the recent range.
