Is Mario & Luigi: Brothership worth it?

If you liked earlier Mario & Luigi RPGs or want a long, kid-friendly Switch adventure, yes. At $48.89 at Walmart as of November 5, 2026, it is a small saving over the $59.99 list price.

Does it work on Switch Lite?

Yes. It runs on both the standard Switch and the Switch Lite, and it is a single-player game with no online requirement.

It is rated E for Everyone with only mild fantasy violence, so it suits most kids around 7 and up. The timed combat is simple to learn.

Can two people play together?

No. Despite the two-brother theme, it is a one-player game with no co-op or multiplayer mode.

How long is the game?

Most players finish the main story in about 30 to 40 hours, with side content adding more.

Is it better than Bowser's Inside Story?

Most fans still rank Bowser's Inside Story higher for story and humor. Brothership is a solid return to the formula but slower paced.

Mario & Luigi: Brothership is the first new entry in the Mario & Luigi role-playing series since 2015, made for the Nintendo Switch and Switch Lite. It is a single-player game rated E for Everyone with mild Fantasy Violence. The best new price is $48.89 at Walmart as of November 5, 2026, a modest discount from the usual $59.99 launch price for a first-party Switch title.
