Is the Meowant GPS Dog Fence worth it?

It is a reasonable pick if you want a wire-free boundary with no subscription and have a large dog that can carry a 10.56 oz collar. The 2 out of 5 rating from only 2 ratings means you should expect limited proof of long-term reliability.

Does it need a subscription or SIM card?

No. The fence is drawn in the free app and there are no monthly fees. Location tracking is Bluetooth only, within about 98 feet, so it will not track your dog across town.

How big a yard can it cover?

Fences can be round or polygonal and range from about 0.48 to 3,534 acres. A round fence can also be set from the collar alone without the app.

Will the 10.56 oz collar fit my dog?

It is heavy for small breeds. It suits medium and large dogs; check your dog's weight and neck size before buying, since a collar this heavy can be uncomfortable on a small dog.

How does the warning work before the boundary?

About 5 meters before the edge, the collar gives a vibration warning that increases in strength. That gives the dog a chance to turn back before any correction at the line.

When is the best time to buy?

Only one store, Amazon, lists it new at $143.61 as of November 3, 2026, so there is no real price competition to wait for. Watch that listing for drops rather than expecting sales elsewhere.

Our take on the Meowant GPS Dog Fence MW-WR01

The Meowant GPS Dog Fence MW-WR01 is a wireless containment system that lets you draw a virtual fence in a free app instead of burying wire, with round or polygonal zones from about 0.48 to 3,534 acres. It adds a vibration warning band roughly 5 meters before the boundary and Bluetooth location tracking within about 98 feet. The collar is water resistant but heavy at 10.56 oz, and it has no cellular service, so tracking is short range only. The best new price is $143.61 at Amazon as of November 3, 2026, with only one store listing it new, so there is little price history to judge against.
