Is the Mercer41 Shoe Cabinet worth it?

At $119.99 it is a low-cost way to hide about 12 pairs behind closed doors in a narrow space. If you want solid wood or a large family shoe wall, spend more or buy two.

How many pairs of shoes does it actually hold?

It is rated for about 12 pairs. Adjustable shelves let you trade rows for height, so tall boots may cut that number.

Does it need to be anchored to the wall?

A tipover restraint device is included, and you should use it. A 47-inch-tall cabinet can tip if a child climbs it or heavy shoes sit on the top shelf.

How hard is assembly?

Assembly is required and it is flat-pack manufactured wood, so expect an hour or more with a screwdriver and a helper for the tall panels. Check all parts before starting.

Will it fit in a narrow hallway?

It is 23.62 inches wide and 11.81 inches deep, so it needs about two feet of wall and one foot of clearance. Measure door swings and baseboards first.
