Our take on the Mercury Row Almeda Wide Tufted Armchair

The Mercury Row Almeda is a wide tufted armchair with a wood frame, solid wood legs and gray polyester upholstery, sized at 29.75 inches wide. It is a budget accent chair aimed at living rooms, bedrooms and reading corners rather than a heavy-use lounge piece. The best new price is $179.99 at Wayfair as of November 3, 2026, and it is the only store listing it new, so there is no cheaper alternative to compare against.

Questions and answers

Is the Almeda armchair worth $179.99?
At $179.99 at Wayfair as of November 3, 2026, it is a reasonable buy for an accent chair you sit in occasionally. If you need a chair for hours of daily lounging, spend more on a deeper, softer seat.
How wide is it, and will it fit my space?
It is 29.75 inches wide, so it fits most bedrooms and small living rooms. Leave a few inches on each side for arm clearance and walking room.
What is the frame and upholstery made of?
The frame is wood with solid wood legs, and the body is polyester in gray. Polyester is easy to wipe but can pill with heavy friction.
Does it come in other colors?
Yes, the chair is offered in multiple body fabric options beyond gray. Check the selected color before ordering, since price and availability can differ by option.
Is it comfortable for long sitting?
It is fine for reading or a short conversation, but the seat is firm and there is no recline. Do not expect lounge-chair comfort for movies or naps.
When is the best time to buy it?
Wayfair runs frequent furniture markdowns around major holiday sales. Watch the price history and buy when it drops below the $179.99 level seen on November 3, 2026.
Where is the Mercury Row Almeda Wide Tufted Armchair cheapest?
At Wayfair, for $179.99, 49% off, as of our latest check.
