Is the Nia sleeper good for guests?

Yes for occasional guests. The pull-out mattress is thin foam, so it suits a few nights a year rather than nightly sleeping. Add a mattress topper for longer stays.

How big is it when opened?

The sofa is 81.5 inches long and 34 inches deep. A sleeper of this size typically extends to roughly 81 by 60 inches when open, so measure your room before buying.

Does it come assembled?

No. It ships flat and needs assembly, usually legs and back attached to the frame. Two people make it much easier because the piece is heavy.

How do I clean the velvet?

Vacuum with a soft brush and blot spills right away with a damp cloth. Avoid harsh cleaners, which can flatten or stain the pile.

Is it worth the price versus a plain sofa?

If you need a guest bed in a small space, the sleeper function justifies it. If you only need seating, a fixed sofa at the same price will usually be more comfortable.

Wayfair house brands like Mercury Row discount most around major sale events and holiday weekends. Watch the price history rather than buying at list.

Our take on the Mercury Row Nia Velvet 81.5" Square Arm Sleeper

The Mercury Row Nia is a velvet sleeper sofa with a split pillow back, track arms and button tufting, sized at 81.5 inches long and 34 inches deep. It converts from a three-seat sofa to a bed, which makes it a fit for small apartments, guest rooms and studios. It is a budget-to-midrange piece from a Wayfair house brand, so expect a wood frame with foam cushions rather than a premium mattress. Its 4.2 rating from about 4,600 ratings puts it in solidly liked but not standout territory.
