Our take on the Metallica Ride The Lightning (Walmart Exclusive) Vinyl

Ride the Lightning is Metallica's second album, released in 1984, and the record where their thrash sound widened into longer, more melodic songwriting. This Walmart exclusive pressing comes on electric blue vinyl. The best new price is $28.90 at eBay as of November 8, 2026, with two stores listing it new. That sits near the low end for a colored exclusive single LP, which typically runs from the high $20s to the mid $30s.

Questions and answers

Is this a remaster?
No. This is a colored vinyl reissue of the original album, not a new remaster, and it has the same track list as standard pressings.
How many records are in the set?
One LP. Ride the Lightning runs about 47 minutes, so the album fits on a single disc.
Is the electric blue vinyl limited?

Does it include a download code?
Most copies of this edition do not include a digital download code. Check the back cover before buying if that matters to you.
Is $28.90 a good price?
