Our take on the Miele Blizzard CX1 Cat & Dog Bagless Canister Vacuum

The Miele Blizzard CX1 Cat & Dog is a bagless canister vacuum built for homes with pets. It uses a lifetime HEPA filter and a two-stage cyclone system that separates fine dust from coarse debris, so you empty one bin and rinse the other. Suction is controlled electronically from the handle, and the 12.5-inch Parquet Twister brush handles hard floors while the included floorhead covers carpet. At $999.95 at Macy's as of November 4, 2026, it sits at the top of its recent price range, so it is not a bargain moment.

Questions and answers

Is the Blizzard CX1 Cat & Dog worth it over a bagged Miele?
If you dislike buying bags and want a lifetime HEPA filter, the bagless CX1 makes sense. Bagged Miele canisters cost less to buy and are lighter, but you pay for bags over time.
How does it handle pet hair?
It is tuned for pet hair, with strong suction and a floorhead suited to carpet. Owners consistently rate pet-hair pickup as its strongest point.
Do I ever need to replace the filter?
The HEPA lifetime filter is designed to last the life of the vacuum and is not a routine replacement item. You do need to empty the fine-dust bin and rinse it periodically.
How heavy is it, and is the cord long enough?
It weighs 19 lbs, so it is best rolled rather than carried. The 21 ft cord and 7 ft hose give about 28 ft of reach from the outlet.
What comes in the box?
Expect the canister, hose and handle, a carpet floorhead, the Parquet Twister hard-floor brush, and a crevice or upholstery tool. Confirm the exact tool set with the store before ordering.
When is it cheapest?
At $999.95 at Macy's as of November 4, 2026, it is near the top of its recent range. Miele canisters tend to dip during holiday sales, so watch for a drop before buying.
Where is the Miele Blizzard CX1 Cat & Dog Bagless Canister Vacuum cheapest?
