Is the Milwaukee M12 FUEL 3/8-inch impact wrench worth it?

It is worth it if you already own M12 batteries and need a compact tool for light fasteners. If you need to remove lug nuts or heavy bolts, a higher-torque 18V wrench is the better buy.

Does it come with a battery and charger?

No. This is a bare tool, so you need a separate M12 REDLITHIUM battery and an M12 charger.

How much torque does it have?

Milwaukee rates fastening torque at 35 ft-lbs. That suits small bolts and assembly work, not heavy automotive fasteners.

What size sockets does it take?

It has a 3/8-inch ball-detent anvil, so it takes standard 3/8-inch drive impact sockets.

How does it compare to the M12 stubby impact wrench?

The stubby version delivers more torque in a similar compact body. This model is lighter-duty and better suited to small fasteners and tight spaces.

Which M12 batteries fit it?

Any M12 REDLITHIUM battery fits, including compact 2.0Ah packs and larger extended-capacity packs.

Our take on the Milwaukee M12 FUEL 3/8" Cordless Impact Wrench Bare Tool

The Milwaukee M12 FUEL 3/8" Impact Wrench is a compact 12-volt cordless impact wrench built around a brushless motor and a 3/8-inch ball-detent anvil. It is sold as a bare tool, so no battery or charger is in the box. Its small 1-1/4-inch head height lets it reach fasteners in tight engine bays and under dashes. It is a light-duty tool: Milwaukee rates fastening torque at 35 ft-lbs, well below full-size 18V impact wrenches.
