Questions and answers

Is the 3/8 in. version enough for lug nuts?
It handles most passenger-car lug nuts, which are typically torqued to 80-100 ft-lbs, well under the 250 ft-lbs rating. For heavy trucks or rusted fasteners, a 1/2 in. high-torque model is the better tool.
Does the kit include a charger?
No. It includes one 5.0Ah M18 battery and the SHOCKWAVE sockets, but no charger. You need an M18 charger or another M18 kit's charger to charge it.
How does it compare to the GEN-2?
The GEN-3 is more compact and has a faster 3,200 IPM rate, which speeds up nut running. Torque stays at 250 ft-lbs, so the gains are in size and speed rather than raw power.
Will my existing M18 batteries work?
Yes. It runs on any M18 18-volt lithium-ion battery, so batteries from other Milwaukee M18 tools fit. A 5.0Ah pack gives good runtime; a 2.0Ah compact pack makes it lighter.
What sockets come in the box?
The kit includes a set of Milwaukee SHOCKWAVE impact sockets in a PACKOUT case. SHOCKWAVE sockets are built for impact use, so they hold up to the hammering better than standard chrome sockets.
Is $448 a good price?
The lowest recorded price is $448.00 as of November 1, 2026, and it is the only price recorded so far. Without a longer history there is no cheaper point to compare against, so check the price history before buying.
What do buyers say about the Milwaukee M18 FUEL GEN-3 3/8 in. Impact Wrench with 5.0Ah Battery and SHOCKWAVE PACKOUT Sockets?
Rated 4.7 out of 5 from 29 ratings.
