Is the Mr. Heater F299720 safe to use in a garage?

It is rated for outdoor and garage use, but any propane heater needs ventilation. Crack a door or window and keep it away from flammable materials. Follow the manual's clearance distances.

How long does a propane tank last?

Run time depends on the tank and setting. On a 20 lb tank at the 18,000 Btu maximum, expect roughly 10 to 12 hours of continuous use; lower settings stretch that.

Does it come with a hose and regulator?

Yes. The box includes the heater, hose and regulator. You supply the propane tank.

Does it need electricity?

No. It runs entirely on propane, with manual button ignition and controls, so it works during power outages.

How much area does it heat?

Mr. Heater rates it for spaces up to about 450 square feet, but radiant heat works best on people and objects in its line of sight rather than heating all the air.

Propane heaters usually drop in price in late summer and early fall before cold weather demand. Check the price history chart for the low points.

Our take on the Mr. Heater F299720

The Mr. Heater F299720 is a propane radiant heater rated at 18,000 Btu with three manual heat settings, built for outdoor and garage use up to about 450 square feet. It runs on a standard propane tank through the included hose and regulator, and the radiant panel heats people and objects directly rather than blowing warm air. It weighs 23 lb and stands about 15.65 inches tall, so it is portable but not a whole-room furnace. No current store price was provided, so check the live comparison before buying.
