Our take on the MXZ Gaming Desktop Computer Ryzen 5 5500 GTX 1660S 6GB 16GB DDR4

The MXZ Gaming Desktop pairs a Ryzen 5 5500 processor with a GeForce GTX 1660 Super 6GB, 16GB of DDR4 and a 500GB NVMe SSD in a tower with six RGB fans. It ships with Windows 11 Pro installed. The GTX 1660 Super is a 2019-era card, so this is a 1080p machine for esports and older titles rather than a current-generation gaming PC. At $739 at Best Buy as of November 4, 2026, it is the only new price listed, so there is no recent range to compare against.

Questions and answers

Is this PC worth $739?
For 1080p esports and older games it works, but $739 buys newer GPUs like the RTX 4060 in prebuilts from major brands. Compare against those before buying.
Can it run modern AAA games?
It runs most at 1080p on low to medium settings. Demanding new titles with ray tracing will need settings turned down or dropped resolution.
Does it support DLSS or ray tracing?
No. The GTX 1660 Super is a Turing card without RT or DLSS hardware, so you rely on FSR in games that offer it.
What comes in the box?
The tower with Windows 11 Pro installed. No monitor, keyboard or mouse is included, so budget for peripherals.
Can I upgrade it later?
Yes. RAM and the NVMe SSD are user-replaceable, and the AM4 socket accepts faster Ryzen 5000 chips. The power supply rating is not listed, so check it before a GPU upgrade.
When is it cheapest?
Only one new price, $739 at Best Buy as of November 4, 2026, is listed. Prebuilt desktops usually drop during Black Friday and back-to-school sales.
Where is the MXZ Gaming Desktop Computer Ryzen 5 5500 GTX 1660S 6GB 16GB DDR4 cheapest?
