Is the NiamVelo 42 in crate big enough for a large dog?

At 42 in long, 26 in wide and 28 in high, it suits most dogs around 70-90 lb. Measure your dog nose-to-tail and add 2-4 inches of standing and turning room before buying.

Does it come with a tray and mat?

It includes a detachable leakproof plastic tray that slides out for cleaning. No crate mat or bed is listed, so plan to buy one separately.

Assembly needs no tools; the panels unfold and lock into place. It also folds flat for travel or storage.

Is $48.99 a good price for a 42-inch crate?

It is a low price for a crate this size, and Walmart is the only store listing a new one as of November 5, 2026. There is no recent price history to compare against, so check other listings before assuming it is the floor.

Can I use it for a puppy?

Yes, but there is no divider panel, so a small puppy has the full 42-inch space and may feel insecure or have accidents. A crate with a divider is better for house training.
