Questions and answers

What size dog fits a 42-inch crate?

A 42-inch crate generally suits dogs around 70 to 90 pounds, such as a Labrador or German Shepherd. Your dog should be able to stand, turn around and lie down without touching the top.

Is 28 inches tall enough for my dog?

Measure your dog from floor to the top of its head while standing. If that is close to or over 28 inches, this crate is too short and you should look for a taller model.

Does it fold flat?

Yes. The crate folds down for storage or travel, which makes it easier to move between rooms or fit in a vehicle.

Is $48.99 a good price for a 42-inch crate?

It is low for a crate this size, where budget wire crates often run $60 to $100. At $48.99 at Walmart as of November 5, 2026, it is a fair deal if the basic build suits your dog.

Does it come with a divider or mat?

Budget folding crates like this typically ship as the crate only. Plan to buy a divider for puppy training and a crate mat separately.

Is it strong enough for a dog that chews?

The light wire frame is not built for heavy chewers. A determined dog may bend the bars or work the latch, so consider a heavier-duty crate for escape artists.

Where is the Niamvelo Large Dog Crate 42 In Folding Dog Kennel cheapest?
