Our take on the Ninestars Oval 13-Gallon Stainless Steel Motion Sensor Trash Can

The Ninestars Oval is a 13-gallon touchless trash can in fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, sized to take standard kitchen bags. Its oval footprint is 16.8 inches wide and 24.81 inches high, so it fits against a counter or wall better than a round can of the same capacity. The motion sensor lid opens hands-free, and the can is rated for commercial use as well as kitchens. At $77.96 at eBay as of November 6, 2026, it is the lowest of the five stores listing it new.

Questions and answers

Is $77.96 a good price for the Ninestars Oval 13-gallon?
It is the lowest of the five stores listing it new as of November 6, 2026, so it is a good price against those listings. Sensor cans of this size often sell for more.
What batteries does it take?
It runs on standard AA batteries in the lid compartment. Keep spares on hand, since the lid stops opening when they run down.
Will a standard 13-gallon kitchen bag fit?
Yes. The 13-gallon capacity matches standard tall kitchen bags, and the oval rim holds them without much slack.
Does it work in a garage or office?
It is rated for commercial use, so it suits an office or break room. In a garage, cold weather can slow the sensor and shorten battery life.
How tall is it?
It is 24.81 inches high and 16.8 inches wide. Check the clearance under your counter or cabinet before buying.
Can the lid be opened by hand?
Yes. The lid can be lifted manually if the batteries die, so the can still works as a regular step-free bin.
