Is the Nordic Ware Universal Lid worth $35?

It makes sense if you are missing lids or tired of storing several. At $35 at Nordic Ware as of November 4, 2026, it costs more than a basic single-size lid, so the value comes from covering 8- to 12-inch pans with one piece.

What pans does it fit?

It is designed for pans 8 to 12 inches in diameter. Fit is tightest at the ends of that range, so check your pan's rim size before buying.

Does the vented knob really stop boil-overs?

The vent lets steam escape so pressure does not build under the glass. It helps with simmering and frying, but it will not prevent a full rolling boil from spilling over.

Is it dishwasher safe?

The glass and metal body can go in the dishwasher, but hand washing keeps the black finish and knob looking new longer.

One universal lid, model 13000AMZ, in black. No other sizes or accessories are included.

Only one new price is listed: $35 at Nordic Ware as of November 4, 2026. Watch for seasonal kitchen sales, since there is no competing store price to beat right now.

Our take on the Nordic Ware 12 Inch Universal Lid

The Nordic Ware Universal Lid is a single tempered-glass-and-metal lid meant to cover pans from 8 to 12 inches across, replacing a drawer full of mismatched lids. A ventilated knob lets steam escape so it works for simmering and frying, and it is made in the USA with a 5-year warranty. At $35 at Nordic Ware as of November 4, 2026, it is the only new price listed, so there is no cheaper store to compare against right now.
