Are swivel shears worth it for a beginner?

Swivel handles help if you cut a lot and feel wrist strain, but at this price the edge and steel are basic. For occasional home trims they are fine; for daily salon work, spend more on a known brand.

What length should I choose?

Shorter blades (around 5 to 5.5 inches) suit detail work and smaller hands; 6 to 7 inches suit general cutting and blunt work. Pick based on your cutting style and hand size.

Is $32.99 a good price?

It is the lowest new price among the two stores listed, at eBay as of November 6, 2026. Swivel shears at this price are entry-level, so judge it against what you need rather than expecting salon quality.

What comes in the set?

It is a set of two shears. Check the listing for whether a case, comb or oil is included, since budget sets often ship with just the shears.

Can I use them on thick or wet hair?

Budget shears cut dry hair more reliably. On thick or wet hair the edge may pull, so use them for light trims and keep them oiled.

Our take on the Nova Swivel Hair Cutting Shears

The Nova Swivel Hair Cutting Shears are a two-piece shear set with handles that rotate a full 360 degrees, meant to ease wrist strain during long cutting sessions. The set sells for $32.99 at eBay as of November 6, 2026, the lowest new price across the two stores that carry it. That is entry-level pricing for swivel shears, well below salon-brand swivel models, so expect a budget build rather than pro-grade steel.
