Is the Nuloom Shanna rug worth it?

For a soft, inexpensive runner in a low-traffic spot, yes. If you need a washable or heavy-traffic rug, a lower-pile option will hold up better.

Does it need a rug pad?

It has a latex nonslip backing, so a pad is optional on hard floors. A thin pad still adds cushioning and extends the rug's life.

Can it go in a laundry machine?

No. It is spot clean only; blot spills with a mild detergent and let it air dry.

Some shedding is normal for shag polypropylene in the first weeks. Vacuum gently without a beater bar to limit it.

What sizes does it come in?

The Shanna line is sold in several sizes and shapes, including runners, area rugs and rounds. Check the size before ordering.

Is it safe for kids and pets?

It is tested for harmful substances and stain resistant, but the deep pile holds pet hair and is harder to clean than flat-weave rugs.

Our take on the Nuloom Shanna Shag Area Rug

The Nuloom Shanna is a machine-made shag rug in 100% polypropylene, sized 2'8" x 8' as a runner. Its 1.4-inch high pile gives a deep, plush feel, and a latex backing with a nonslip design keeps it in place on hard floors. It is power loomed and spot clean only, so it suits low-traffic spots like an entryway or beside a bed rather than a busy family room. The 4.4-out-of-5 rating from 968 ratings puts it among the better-reviewed budget shag rugs.
