Is the Oculus Go still worth buying?

Only at a low price and mainly for video or light seated games. It is discontinued, and the Oculus Store no longer gets new Go apps, so treat it as a cheap first taste of VR rather than a long-term device.

Does the Oculus Go need a phone or PC?

No. It runs on its own with the included controller, and you set it up with the Oculus app on Android or iOS.

Can I walk around in VR with the Oculus Go?

No. It uses 3DOF tracking, which follows head rotation but not position, so you stay seated or standing in place. There is no room-scale movement.

The headset and one controller, per this listing. Check the seller's listing for a charger and strap details, since used units may ship with less.

Does the Oculus Go work with glasses?

Yes. The fit is designed to accommodate glasses wearers, and the support straps adjust for head size.

When is the Oculus Go cheapest?

Prices depend on condition and seller now that it is discontinued. Watch used listings and compare across stores rather than expecting seasonal sales.

Our take on the Oculus Go Standalone Virtual Reality Headset

The Oculus Go is a standalone VR headset that needs no phone or PC. It has a 2560 x 1440 LCD, a 90-degree field of view and a 60 Hz refresh rate, with a single 3DOF controller for pointing. It is light and simple to set up, but it cannot track your movement through a room. Oculus discontinued it, so it now sells mainly as used or leftover stock; prices vary widely by seller and condition.
