Is the TG-7 worth it over a phone?

Yes if you shoot in water, sand or cold where a phone can't go. The 15 m waterproofing, microscope mode and physical zoom do things phones can't. For dry everyday shots, a phone is often enough.

How does it compare with the Ricoh WG-8?

The TG-7 has a wider 25mm-equivalent lens and a faster f/2.0 aperture. The WG-8 is rated to a similar depth but has a narrower wide end. The TG-7 is the stronger pick for underwater and macro work.

Does it come with a memory card?

No. It has no internal storage, so buy an SD, SDHC or SDXC card separately. A 64GB card is plenty for stills and 4K clips.

Can I use filters or a lens adapter?

Yes, with the CLA-T01 adapter, which accepts 40.5mm filters. The adapter is sold separately.

When is the price lowest?

Rugged compacts usually dip during holiday sales and before new models launch. The current best is $432.14 at Walmart as of November 4, 2026; watch for drops below that.
