Is the Bell+Howell WP10 worth it?

If you want a cheap camera that can go in the water and you accept phone-level-at-best image quality, yes. If photo quality matters, spend more or use a waterproof phone case.

How deep can it go underwater?

It is rated to about 9.8 ft (3 m). That covers pools, snorkeling and splashes, but not diving.

What memory card does it take?

It takes microSD and microSDHC cards. A standard SD card will not fit.

Does it have optical zoom?

No. The lens is fixed at 8.5mm, so any zoom is digital and crops the image.

What video resolution does it record?

Video is 640 x 480, which is well below HD. Treat it as a clip recorder, not a video camera.

The best new price was $29.83 at eBay as of November 4, 2026. Budget waterproof cameras often drop around summer and holiday sales.

Our take on the Bell+Howell WP10 Splash Waterproof Digital Camera

The Bell+Howell WP10 is a small, cheap point-and-shoot built for splashes and shallow water, rated to about 9.8 ft (3 m). It shoots 12 MP stills with a fixed 8.5mm f/2.8 lens, electronic anti-shake and face detection, and records video only at 640 x 480. At $29.83 at eBay as of November 4, 2026, it sits at the low end of its recent range, which fits a camera meant for beach bags and kids rather than image quality.

Cons

Video tops out at 640 x 480
Fixed lens with no optical zoom
Only three ISO settings (50, 100, 200), so low-light shots are noisy
