Is the OXO Brew Compact worth it over a blade grinder?

Yes, if you brew pour-over, drip or French press. Conical burrs give a more even particle size than a blade, which makes extraction more predictable. At $79.95 at Amazon as of November 4, 2026, it is one of the cheaper burr options.

Can it grind fine enough for espresso?

It reaches a fine setting, but the 29 micro-adjustments are aimed at brew methods, not dialing in espresso. For espresso, a grinder with stepless or espresso-focused adjustment is a better fit.

How much coffee does the hopper hold?

50 g of beans, about 6 cups or 30 oz of brewed coffee. For larger batches you will refill mid-brew.

Both the upper and lower burrs are removable, and the design has no chute to trap grounds. Brush out the burr chamber and wash the hopper and grounds cup as directed.

The current $79.95 at Amazon as of November 4, 2026 is at the low end of its recent range. Watch for sale periods like Black Friday and Prime Day for similar or lower prices.
