Is the Pace 5 REC worth $1,599.99?

At $1,599.99 at Mill Race Cyclery as of November 4, 2026, it is a fair price for a 750W cruiser with a 733Wh battery and GPS security. Comparable comfort cruisers with these features often cost more.

How does it differ from the standard Pace 5?

The REC adds regenerative braking and the ACU smart system with GPS tracking, an e-lock and activity detection. The standard Pace 5 keeps the same cruiser geometry and motor without those connected features.

What is the real-world range?

Aventon rates it up to 75 miles, which assumes low assist on flat ground. Expect closer to 30 to 45 miles with frequent Boost Mode use or hilly routes.

Can I ride it without the app?

Yes. The motor, throttle assist and display work without a phone, but GPS tracking, the e-lock and activity alerts require the Aventon app and a cellular connection.

What comes in the box?

The bike ships mostly assembled with the charger, pedals and tools for final setup. Check with Mill Race Cyclery on whether assembly is included at pickup.

Prices on this model have held near $1,600 across the three stores listing it new. Watch for seasonal sales in spring and fall, when cruiser discounts are most common.
